Inspiration Dior Exhibition - Sneak Preview
The "Inspiration Dior" exhibition was inaugurated yesterday at the Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts in Moscow. It presents a unique dialogue between major masterpieces that have inspired Christian Dior and the designers that succeeded him and more than sixty years of Dior Haute Couture. See a short preview.
Runway Beauty-Graphic Liner
Step 1. Clean Canvas
Always do dramatic eye makeup first, because if you make a mistake it’s easier to clean up. Prep eyelids with a primer and a neutral shadow or foundation.
Step 2.Pick a Liner
There are endless options for liner depending what kind of look you want. LancĂ´me makes a goof-proof sharpie-pen version, MAC fluidline is a standout for thick or thin lines, and a drug store find is Wet n’ Wild.
Step 3. Sketch
Take your liner of choice, and gently line the top lid from tear duct to the end of the lid as close to the eyelash line as possible. It’s a lot easier to be accurate if you lower your lids and look down slightly while you do this. Remember just to line the top lid, which keeps the look modern and removes any chance of a panda bear look.
Step 4. Tweak It
Keep repeating until the line is as thick as you would like. For the dramatic runway look just use a thicker brush to cover the entire lid up to the crease, and drag it out slightly beyond the lid for an extended half-moon shape. For a more delicate look, simply follow the lash line and build it up slightly. For retro glamour you can wing it out into a classic cat eye. Or for a more avant-garde look try a jewel tone liner like blue or turquoise.
Step 5. Finish Your Make-up
Once your liner is set, keep the line crisp and clean up any goofs with a cotton swab and make-up remover, then dust a bit of face powder to set the liner. Finish the rest of your makeup in neutral tones with minimal blush and just a bit of lip balm, keeping the look fresh and clean.

Beauty tip from ELLE..Put a Ring on It!
The Dries Van Noten fall 2011 show proved that the devil’s in the details with the easiest update for your everyday ponytail. Simply switch out your elastic for a large metal ring to exude an edgy, minimalistic vibe.
Hopefully high-street stores will pick up on this, but in the meantime get the look with these easy steps:
1. Find a large thick ring. A man’s thumb ring would work nicely.
2. Twist your hair into a coiled ponytail, wetting the hair first will help it stick together even more so it’s easier to thread through the ring.
3. Thread your hair through the ring and push up into your usual ponytail.

Olsen Twins: How We Earned Fashion Community's Respect
Their clothes have been worn by the likes of First Lady Michelle Obama and Carey Mulligan, but according to Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, it took a long time for the fashion community to take them seriously.
"Initially, I wanted someone else to front the brand," Mary-Kate tells Newsweek of The Row, which generates an estimated $10-12 million annually. "We wanted someone else to rep it. But we couldn't lie."
Buyers were skeptical, questioning everything from where the garments were manufactured to the high costs of production.
"With the retailers, we dealt with some tough cookies," Ashley recalls. "Their attitude was, 'Who do these girls think they are?'"
"It definitely took time to earn people's respect," Mary-Kate adds.
Fortunately, the 24-year-old twins are finally being recognized for their design achievements: they received their first ever CDFA nomination this year. (They will face off against Joseph Altuzarra and Prabal Gurung in the Swarovski Award for Womenswear category).
Designing quality merchandise wasn't enough for the stylish duo; they also wanted to make sure the majority of their collection was produced on American soil.
"I really believe in our being able to create here and utilize the skills that people have here," Ashley explains. "The skill set is here. Our main issue is that some of the machinery is gone, so some knitwear is produced in Italy. But whether it's clothing or cars, I believe in manufacturing as close to home as possible."
"We really want The Row to be an American luxury brand," she continues. "We believe in not just American by representation but American by make."
